Được tọa lạc ở ấp Vàm Ray, huyện Trà Cú, tỉnh Trà Vinh, ngôi chùa nầy không những mang tính chất kiến trúc đậm chất của người Khơ Me ở Nam Bộ mà còn giữ phong cách của đế chế Angkor. Chùa còn là một ngôi chùa lớn nhất trong số 143 chùa Khơ Me được liệt kê ở Trà Vinh. Chùa có 4 cổng vào và theo truyền thống cùa người Khơ Me thì cổng chính và toà nhà chính điện phải quay về hướng Đông biểu tượng cho con đường tu hành của Phật tử từ Tây sang Đông. Chính cũng nơi nầy về hướng Đông Nam của chính điện, du khách sẽ thấy được tượng đức Phật Thích Ca nhập Niết Bàn có chiều dài 54 thước. Còn bên trong chính điện thì được trang trí lộng lẫy với những bức tranh tường nhiều màu sắc, đậm chất văn hóa Khơ Me, kể lại cuộc đời của Đức Phật và giáo lý của Phật giáo.
Étant située dans le hameau de Vam Ray, district de Trà Cú, province de Trà Vinh, cette pagode porte non seulement le caractère architectural du peuple khmer du Sud Vietnam mais aussi le style de l’empire d’Angkor. La pagode est également la plus grande parmi les 143 pagodes recensées dans la province de Trà Vinh. Elle dispose de 4 portes d’entrée. Selon la tradition khmère, la porte principale et le bâtiment principal doivent être orientés vers l’est. C’est le chemin pris par les pratiquants bouddhistes de l’ouest vers l’est. C’est aussi ici que vers le sud-est du hall principal, les visiteurs verront la statue allongée de 54 mètres du Bouddha Shakyamuni, illustrant son accession au Nirvana. Quant à l’intérieur du bâtiment principal, on voit défiler des peintures murales colorées et imprégnées de la culture khmère, relatant ainsi la vie de Bouddha et les enseignements du bouddhisme.
Located in the hamlet of Vam Ray, Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh province, this pagoda not only bears the architectural character of the Khmer people of Southern Vietnam but also the style of the Angkor empire. The pagoda is also the largest among the 143 pagodas recorded in Tra Vinh province. It has 4 entrance gates. According to Khmer tradition, the main gate and the main building must face east. This is the path taken by Buddhist practitioners from west to east. It is also here that, towards the southeast of the main hall, visitors will see the 54-meter reclining statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, illustrating his attainment of Nirvana. As for the interior of the main building, colorful murals imbued with Khmer culture depict the life of Buddha and the teachings of Buddhism.
