Situé à 100 m au sud-est du Vat Si Sake, cet ancien temple royal fut probablement construit au XVIème siècle sous le règne de Setthathirat pour abriter le fameux le célèbre bouddha d’Émeraude, que ce roi avait rapporté du nord de la Thaïlande. Mais à la suite d’un conflit avec la Thaïlande en 1779, les Siamois détruisirent le temple et récupérèrent le Bouddha d’émeraude pour le déposer au Wat Phra Kaeo de Bangkok.
Nằm cách chùa Wat Si Sake 100 mét về phía đông nam, ngôi chùa hoàng gia cổ kính này có lẽ được xây dựng vào thế kỷ 16 dưới thời trị vì của vua Setthathirat để lưu giữ bức tượng Phật Ngọc nổi tiếng, mà ông đã mang về từ miền bắc Thái Lan. Located 100 meters southeast of Wat Si Sake, this ancient royal temple was probably built in the 16th century during the reign of Setthathirat to house the famous Emerald Buddha statue, which he brought back from northern Thailand. However, after the conflict with Thailand in 1779, the Siamese destroyed the temple and took back the Emerald Buddha statue, placing it at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
