Cứ mỗi năm nhà kính hoàng gia Bỉ tọa lạc ở cung điện Laeken chính thức mở cửa chỉ trong vòng ba tuần đón tiếp công chúng ở khắp nơi trên thế giới, năm nay từ ngày 19/4 đến 10/5. Nhà kính nầy có hơn 100 năm tuổi và được thiết kế bởi kiến trúc sư Alphonse Balat dưới triều đại của vua Léopold II (1865-1909). Công trình nầy là một quần thể kiến trúc hoàn toàn bằng kính và kim khí nằm trong một quan cảnh đồi núi và mất gần 12 năm mới được hoàn thiện với diện tích có đến 2,5 ha. Có luôn cả một tháp Nhật Bản. Nơi nầy, có các loại thực vật rất nổi tiếng nhất là các loại hoa thơm như phong lữ, đỗ quyên, cẩm tú cầu hay hoa trà. Dù thời gian đón khách du lịch rất ngắn (có 3 tuần), nhà kính hoàng gia vẫn là nơi được du khách biết đến rất nhiều, có ít nhất 800.000 người đến tham quan mỗi năm. Tiền thu thập được dùng để sùng tu nhà kính hay dành cho các việc từ thiện của nữ hoàng hay là mua các tác phẩm nghệ thuật cho bộ sưu tập hoàng gia.
Chaque année, les serres royales de Laeken sont ouvertes au public et aux touristes étrangers durant trois semaines. Cette année l’ouverture commence le 19 Avril et se termine le 10 Mai. Ayant plus de 100 ans d’âge, ces serres royales ont été conçues par l’architecte Alphonse Balat sous le règne du roi Léopold II (1865-1909). Elles sont en fait un complexe architectural réalisé entièrement en métal et en verre et implanté dans un paysage vallonné. On compte presque 12 ans dans la réalisation de ce complexe superbe avec une superficie ayant au moins 2,5 ha. Une tour japonaise est visible de loin. C’est ici qu’on trouve des plantes très connues, en particulier des fleurs parfumées comme les géraniums, les rhododendrons, les hortensias ou les camélias. Bien que l’ouverture au public soit de courte durée (3 semaines), les serres royales de Laeken sont très connues par les touristes étrangers. Il y au moins chaque année 800.000 visiteurs. L’argent récolté est destiné entièrement aux œuvres caritatives de la reine, aux opérations de restauration ou à l’acquisition des œuvres d’art pour enrichir la Collection Royale.
Every year, the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are open to the public and foreign tourists for three weeks. This year the opening starts on April 19 and ends on May 10. More than 100 years old, these royal greenhouses were designed by the architect Alphonse Balat during the reign of King Leopold II (1865-1909). They are actually an architectural complex made entirely of metal and glass and set in a hilly landscape. It took almost 12 years to complete this superb complex with an area of at least 2.5 hectares. A Japanese tower is visible from afar. It is here that very well-known plants are found, particularly fragrant flowers such as geraniums, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, or camellias. Although the opening to the public is of short duration (3 weeks), the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are very well known among foreign tourists. There are at least 800,000 visitors each year. The money collected is entirely intended for the queen’s charitable works, restoration operations, or the acquisition of artworks to enrich the Royal Collection.
